In order to be able to receive larger ships at the Grand Aulnay wharf (APGA) in Grand Quevilly, the Grand Port Maritime de Rouen decided to improve the capacity of the wharf. The works to be carried out mainly included new large capacity dolphins to accommodate larger ships for the Ruby Terminal oil terminal.<\/p>\n<\/div>
The contract included the removal of 2 existing mooring dolphins and the installation of 6 new equipped dolphins (5 for mooring and 1 for berthing). These 6 monotubular dolphins consist of metal piles with a diameter of 2200 mm with variable thicknesses from 30 to 54 mm, and are about 30 meters long. One of them weighed almost 100 t, which required considerable means of lifting. As the chalky substratum can be very compact, the anchoring of the piles was done by driving<\/a> with a hydraulic hammer S280.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div> Location<\/span> \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>
